Rimnetics' focus is helping you create a smart product design that makes the best use of the unique features of polyurethane structural foam. This often allows you to consolidate multiple parts into one single molded part, to vary the wall thickness within the part without warp or sink marks.
Our process even can eliminate the products internal frame, making the molded enclosure truly a structural piece -- the skin becomes the frame! These and other unique RIM features can lower your total tooling and manufacturing cost while improving the overall quality.
Industrial Designers love the RIM process because it allows great design freedom to have free flowing curves on the outside and all the necessary attachment points on the inside. Optimal part sizes can range anywhere from the phone on your desk to an MRI machine.
In addition to custom molded RIM parts, Rimnetics has an encapsulation process that allows overmolding or encapsulation of PCBs (printed circuit boards), antennas magnets and other hardware components directly into the molded part. This protects them from harsh environments and exposure.
